A life coach is a certified professional who typically works 1:1 with clients to establish healthy habits, design personal or professional goals and a path to success, and uncover obstacles that could potentially block the client from achieving their goals.
A life coach is not a medical doctor, psychologist, or psychiatrist. The life coach’s main intention is to help the client help themselves. Instead of offering the client her advice, the life coach may ask, “What advice would you give a friend in this situation?” This allows the client to think for themselves what type of advice is needed or warranted in any given situation.
A life coach is present and future focused. Coaching can offer unique support and accountability for people who may need that extra “something” to get them going. Coaching during new projects or new stages in life can be incredibly beneficial. It can keep you focused on the path ahead and the incredible experiences that life is always offering you.
If you feel as though you are often “stuck” in bad habits, in unhealthy cycles of inaction, or have trouble initiating tasks that you need or want to complete, then a life coach may be able to help! All results from life coaching are dependent upon the client’s honesty, efforts, and self-awareness. Results will vary from person to person, as each of us is unique in our desires and abilities.
